The Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District (District) has an opportunity available to join the team as a Firefighter/Paramedic – Lateral (FF/PM). Lateral candidates must possess a minimum of twenty-four (24) months of continuous full-time firefighting experience and have completed probation as a paid FF/PM with a municipal, county, state, fire district, federal, or tribal all-risk fire agency. Candidates must be currently employed at the time of application.

This is an open and continuous recruitment. Applications are accepted at any time. When the District is actively hiring, an application closing date will be posted at www.ranchosantafefire.gov.

All required licenses and certifications must remain current throughout the entire examination and hiring process. To maintain current records, the applicant must resubmit their application with updated documentation any time a credential is renewed during the process prior to application closing.

Upon closing, all applications received will be reviewed for completeness and the most qualified individuals will be selected to continue in the hiring process.
